Atelier ter Bekke & Behage


에블린과 더크가 설립한 ‘Atelier ter Bekke & Behage’는 비주얼 아이덴티티, 인쇄물, 타이포그라피와 서체 디자인, 이미지/기호, 웹출판과 멀티미디어 웹사이트, 전시 디자인 및 사이니지 디자인 등 여러 분야의 커뮤니케이션 디자인을 하고 있다.

Evelyn ter Bekke
네덜란드 출생. 에블린은 브레다에 위치한 성 요스트 아카데미에서 그래픽디자인을 전공하고 로테르담에서 일을 시작하면서 Art Centre of the City of Rotterdam, National Photography Institute 등의 비주얼 아이덴티티, 포스터, 도록, 초대장을 디자인하기도 하였다. 1996년부터 파리에서 거주, 활동하고 있다.

Dirk Behage
파라과이 출생. 더크는 네덜란드 St Joost Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Breda에서 그래픽디자인을 전공, 헤이그에 위치한 ‘Dumbar Studio’에서 디자이너로 근무하였다. 1987년에 파리 ‘Grapus Collective’에 합류하고 Pierre Bernard, Fokke Draaijer와 함께 ‘l’Atelier de Création Graphique’를 설립하였다. 루브르와 프랑스 국립공원 관리국의 비주얼 아이덴티티를 디자인했으며, 1991년부터는 파리 École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs에서 학생들을 가르치고 있다.


The Atelier ter Bekke & Behage was created by two graphic designers, Evelyn ter Bekke and Dirk Behage. Focusing on artistic graphic design, the studio works in all areas of communication for public cultural organizations: visual identity design, printed materials, typography and original font design, images/signs, electronic publishing and multimedia websites, exhibition design and signage.

Evelyn ter Bekke
Born in the Netherlands. She studied graphic design at the St Joost Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Breda (Netherlands). She then worked in Rotterdam where she designed several art catalogues, visual identities, posters and invitations for the Art Centre of the City of Rotterdam, for the National Photography Institute, and for several publishers. She has lived and worked in Paris since 1996.

Dirk Behage
Born in Paraguay. He studied graphic design at the Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Groningen (Netherlands), then worked with the Dumbar Studio in The Hague. He joined the Grapus Collective in Paris in 1987 and founded “l’Atelier de Création Graphique” along with Pierre Bernard and Fokke Draaijer. He designed and produced the new visual identity for the Louvre and for the French National Parks bureau.
Since 1991 he has been teaching at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris.

Over the years Atelier ter Bekke & Behage have produced original designs for the national theatre of La Colline, the Adrien Dubouché National Porcelain Museum in Limoges, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the Théâtre Ouvert in Paris, the Théâtre Rive Gauche, the National Museum of Prehistory in the Dordogne, the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi, the MAC/VAL (Val-de-Marne Museum of Contemporary Art), the Orchestre National d’Ile de France, the Paris Month of Photography, Éditions Pérégrines, Éditions Jean Lenoir and Marc Barani architect.
Work by the Atelier ter Bekke & Behage has been included in collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Le Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris and the Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich.
